23 May Post Traumatic Growth
I came across this book by Miriam Akhtar recently “Whats post-traumatic growth” a great perspective for hope. I think as a society we have a tendency to focus on what’s wrong rather than what’s good and rarely explore the positive outcomes of trauma/grief or crisis. I have read and witnessed post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and the debilitating impact this can have on individuals, but also recognise the potential positive outcomes as a result of trauma, which partly depends on our level of resilience.
We all manage change and trauma in different ways, it’s important to recognise that’s ok.
